Why I can't connect to my Xbox from my PC?

Hello!

I am trying to connect from my PC to my Xbox via Xbox Console Companion and it does not work.

It worked in the past but I did not use this option in a while.

When I open Xbox Console Companion I can see my console, I can start it but when I click on "Test streaming" I get the following message:

"Unable to stream because either the Xbox app or your console needs to be updated. Make sure they are both up to date and try again."

I checked and there is no update available for any of them.

I also check the network connect on Xbox and everything is fine (NAT type: Open, etc.)

Any ideas?

The console companion is no longer supported, it is an outdated windows eight app. Ever since Windows 10 launched, you’ve been expected to use that to stream from the console

No, my pc is to far from the xbox to connect to wirelessly. I have read that it could be done over a wired connection, as long as it is in the same network (click
this link). For me this seems to not be working. I can't find any ways to troubleshoot it, for it seems to just work for everybody reporting on it. I need help on why it is not working for me.

edit: Both the xbox and the pc are connected by wire.

We understand that you are trying to connect your Xbox One to your PC however, the connection was accidentally ended. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner for you to get back to gaming.

May we confirm if you are trying to do remote play? If yes, you may go back to setting up your remote play:

Open the Xbox app for PC.
Click on your profile picture and select View profile.
Under Where I play, select the Add a console option and follow the steps shown.

May we ask if you are sharing what is on your PC to Xbox? Or you are seeing what is on your Xbox console on PC?
