    i buy a gift card to buy a game on the xbox store the problem is that the game was a xbox 360 game and i can't buy it

    Buying original Xbox or Xbox 360 games with account credit

    I bought $75 worth of gift cards for Xbox Live and come to find out I can't use those gift cards to purchase original Xbox or Xbox 360 games from the marketplace. Is there a reason for this? Why can I only use that credit to buy Xbox One games?

    If you purchase the games via an xbox 360 console you will be able to use the card. If you try to purchase on xbox one or the website you will need to use a credit/debit card or paypal

    If you have a friend who owns an Xbox 360, you can open your account on his Xbox and purchase the game you need.
