Why haven't I got my money back?

I preorder final shape for destiny 2. I was charged for the preorder my banking statement showed the money was taken from my account when I check to make sure it went through. Since the release date was moved my order was cancelled and I never saw the money got back to my account. I would either like my money back or my preorder back as I did not want it cancelled in the first place.

I have no idea why this error occurred on your account, therefore I cannot return your pre-order since I am also a gamer like you and not a Microsoft employee, so I can tell you from my personal experience that perhaps there was some error in the purchase and for this reason you did not obtain your pre-order.

Regarding the refund of the money, you must verify your transaction history, look for the debit and write down the order/transaction number and then fill out the following form to make the refund request, there the team in charge will study your case and make a decision where the most Your money will surely be returned.

FYI, when you preorder a game from Microsoft, they run a test charge to see if you actually have the ability to pay. This charge goes away shortly after being tested. The actual charge only happens 10 days before the game is released. The only time the funds are taken earlier is if you use your Microsoft balance to pay. That will go through immediately. It is likely that you are just seeing the test charge and the money wasn't actually taken yet. This would be why you don't see a refund happening. It is because you might not have actually been charged yet.

There was a notice on the website a few days ago explaining that the refunds are taking longer.

Microsoft Xbox Refunds may take several business days, it depends on which payment method you used.
