Why have I lost Permission to Play My Game Pass Ultimate Games on my PC?

it does look like the only way to get rid of the problem is to delete the User and create it again.

This is not for the faint hearted, as I am sure that you are aware.

The only saving grace was that I only had to re-install my Steam/Rockstar/Epic/Battlenet apps to regain access to the associated games. They were all still present on the system.

It does look like I will need to download all of my Game Pass games though, thank goodness for cloud storage of save games.

A fantastic byproduct is all of the wonderful new Windows apps and phone apps that I wasn't aware of have now been activated. My PC is effectively my phone now and I can cast to my TV, something that I just couldn't work out before. It is like Win10 is a completely different operating system to me now.

I would suggest that if you are a modder/tinkerer then you will need to 'Take Ownership' of any game folders/discs. You will not be allowed to take ownership of the system drive or some specific system folders. In Win10 Pro this is easy, right click the drive/folder and one of the options is 'Take Ownership' - too easy.

Unfortunately, with the WIn10 Home version you will need to insert a line into your registry. Follow the instructions in the link below.

I want to help as much as possible. It has been a torrid day for me(Google got hammered) and if I can help with a solution that prevents the hours I have spent on this, then I am sure that the Karmic CPU gods will be happy.

Unfortunately, I live in a part of the world that does not rely on fibre. ADSL sucks when you have 19.69 GB to download.

I have been gaming since I owned my first computer, a Texas Ti994a(showing my age here).

I am currently in the process of uninstall-reinstall of one of the games.

If this fails, then I will certainly try your suggestion.

I will keep you abreast of the results.
