Why has my xbox uninstalled all of my games? And why isnt my external drive showing up?

I'm very sorry for the problem you're going through, a question: Have you saved your games in the cloud? What type of Xbox do you have?

While you respond, you can try the following steps recommended by Xbox Support to detect the external storage drive:

There may be recent updates to your Xbox console and you may need to manually update the system to detect the external storage drive. To actualize:

1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, then go to Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.

2. If you see Update Available, there is an update you need to install.

3. After you have installed the update, go back to Settings and select System > Storage devices. Check if the device appears in the list.

4. If the storage device still does not appear or if there is no update pending, try the following solution.

Solution 2: Adjust storage power management if you are in sleep mode

Check the power settings. If you are in sleep mode:

1. Press the Xbox  button to open the guide.

2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power options.

3. Make sure the power mode is set to Sleep mode.

4. Disable the Turn off storage option if the Xbox is turned off.

5. Restart the Xbox and go back to Settings and select System > Storage to see if the device is now listed.

Solution 3: Other things to try

If your Xbox still cannot detect the external storage device:

1. Disconnect and then reconnect the storage device.

2. Connect the device to another USB port on the console.

3. Turn the console on and off:

4. Press the Xbox  button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds.

5. Turn the console back on and see if it detects the external drive.

Hi I couldn’t find a section for external hard drives but recently my hard drive has been acting up it says it’s ready then disconnects and it also shows all my storage but none of my games are installed they are all uninstalled this has recently started happening when my Xbox got damaged so I don’t know if that’s got something to do with it so if someone has any ideas to why this is happening can you let me know thank you

Yea I'm a little annoyed with this whole external storage thing too. I bought a 500 gb flash drive and I moved the majority of my larger files to make room on my Xbox hard drive. It shows that about 250 gbs are used but only shows 6 games...my library has
dwindled from 70 to 49 games and all the doc I moved isn't there either....why would they tell you to use something if it's not going to work properly? I formatted it before putting anything on it...so idk maybe I should just suck it up and buy an Xbox brand
external hard drive but I'd rather not because it's wicked expensive....if anyone has any info please tell me why this isn't working

I have a problem with my external hard drive seagate barracuda, it was working about a month ago but now it shows all my storage but all my games on the hardrive have uninstalled and shows none of my games on the hard drive, I don’t know if this has anything to do with my damaged Xbox which was dropped a couple months ago but still works fine. If any one knows anything feel free to post ideas
