Why has my Xbox name changed to my mums name she is the account holder

Hello Ryan, you are referring to your Gamertag or your account name are two different things, however in both cases they can only be modified by the account owner.

your mums account should be on the pc, she then signs in downloads the game, then sign in on your name, go to the xbox beta app, sign out and sign in with your mums account, download game, sign out of xbox beta app and sign in with your name, game should
work. your account must also be under your mums family section.

I do this for my kids on their pc's.

I think the notifications are when my nephew goes in and changes some of the settings. His mum did try and go in an change the email account this morning and I got notified by Microsoft that my security settings had been changed and that if I had made
the changes they would be implemented within a certain time frame. If it wasn't me making the changes then I needed to go in and ensure my security settings were correct otherwise I wouldn't be able to get back into my account. What also happens is that
when my nephew has made changes and I go into my emails it's got his name showing as the account holder and my emails show his name rather than mine if I try to send one, so I have to go in and change whatever he has set up. I'm not an Xbox expert but can
only assume that the reason he is changing things is because my name is showing up on his Xbox, which clearly he doesn't want to see?? I know that his mum has added her bank card details to the Xbox info - but it's me who gets all the emails when he has bought
things so I have to forward them on to her. It's not an ideal situation and I hoped it would be an easy fix to move the Xbox and it's data to a new account - but obviously not.

my daughter is 7, her name is skye and she is looking for a few friends of similar age to play minecraft with, she has a headset to chat with but mum or dad will always be in the room when she is online.feel free to add.

Also when I tried to change my gamertag it says my old name is in use ?
