Why has my gamer tag not changed on xbox1

So I changed my gamer tag on xbox 360 5 or six months ago, recently bought an Xbox 1, logged in with my Xbox account and my gamer tag is the same as my old one, it has it right everywhere else except the Xbox i want it on... can any body help with this

Yeah neither of those options worked either man :/

Under settings, then account , all options that show something with a name show my old gamer tag, I could not find any account option under the settings, and then system option but when I play a game then it shows my new gamer tag, iv only just finished downloading a game to play, I don't understand why I still have to see my old gamer tag on everything else though

Got it. But when you play any of your game, does it show your new correct gamertag?

Yeah hi, yes it was my one and only free gamer tag change, it has worked for my Microsoft xbox.com account and on my Xbox 360 so can't understand what a free gamer tag change is good for if it hasn't truely changed?
