Why has live gone down hill?

So my question is since the launch of xbox one, why has xbox live been so crappy? I think at least once a week my party either cuts out or my friends list goes down. And to be honest it's getting quite annoying. This was almost never a problem on the 360
and absolutely not a issue on the original xbox. So why is live so unreliable now?

While I agree that it is annoying, I remember when this happened relatively frequently on the 360 every once in a while. It'll get better over time, just like the 360 did, I'm sure, so just be patient. For me, I'm waiting for Windows 10 and DX12 to see if
that improves things by leaps and bounds. In any case, 1 thing I do disagree with, is that XBL is going downhill - it's not. It's going up. It started virtually rock-bottom and it's been climbing the mountain ever since.

 

Downhill. Twice this week it's been down and it's tuesday. As for the 360 problems, I didn't have them.

 

Until it starts affecting my games i could care less..which thankfully it hasn't. I don't constantly stare at my friendslist or live in party chats so until i saw this i didn't even know about it as i have been sailing the seas in Black Flag without problems.

 

It's Wednesday evening NZ time. I'm having trouble on Xbox 360 every time I launch a game, it disconnects me from Xbox Live. I click connect to Xbox Live, select profile, signing in, takes a bajillion years to. Have open NAT.

So.... I signed into my Xbox 1 and.... no loading issues, no friends list issues, can launch a game and am still connected to Xbox Live.

Xbox 360 uses 15,000 Xbox Live servers worldwide. Xbox 1 uses different servers, 300,000+ Xbox Live Azure servers worldwide.

I suspect someone dos attacked Microsoft's servers, and we all know who to blame those lizard hackers, they aren't going to rest until they're behind bars.

In the end it's all just going up. Look how far Xbox One has come since launch. A whole different system now. Yeah these issues are annoying but it'll only get better and believe Windows 10 and DX12 is going to be a whole new thing we should be excited for

Well I guess the joke is on them now cause Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 Xbox Live servers are up and running again and we can enjoy our Xbox stuff and can have a big fat lol at THEM. DOS attacks are illegal but whatever country those peps live in their government
clearly doesn't enforce their laws. If it were Australia or New Zealand they would be in prison or fined, then they wouldn't be able to keep their expensive toys they use to dos attack. They want us to get mad at Microsoft. You only need to look on Google
or the news to find out we should put the blame on them and others who are the like. They can try to bring down XBL for a week if they even can, but Microsoft has servers around the world.

 

Imo, I think Live is having issues because much like the X1, it isn't ready yet. I'm not talking Live as a whole, more Live for the X1, it's becoming obvious that the X1 should of been released with win 10 on-board.

Personally I think everything will improve with the win 10 update later this year.

 

It was bad yesterday took over 3 hours for me to download a 1.6gig game was getting 160kb a second thought it was my internet but managed to get a movie in around a minute on laptop

 

Cheesy. I took me 3 hours to download the Screamride demo lastnight.... I have 80mbps Internet.

 

it's because of Azure, yeah xbox might have access to a potential 300,000 servers but Azure is used by a lot of other system globally and is not soley made for xbox it is used by businesses for there cloud tech, office 365 etc etc, they need it on a separate
platform again as you cannot mix gaming with business servers, all they had to do was add another 5,ooo servers to the original live and everything would have been hunky dory.

 

Yep download speeds are horrific at the moment, Ive got slow Internet at the moment but even so the speeds are shocking, guessing it's getting hammered with the sale, tell you what I bet Sniper 3's total sales have tripled lol

 

@yellowjacketLE you're right, this doesn't concern you, it's an xbox live issue, not a single player issue.
