    Why free games as Skyforge, is needed Xbox Live Gold?


    Why games like Skyforge,Smite and Paladins, I need to have Xbox Live Gold, they're not free?

    Unable to play Skyforge

    .Ok, so we have 2 Xbox Ones in my house. We buy Xbox Live in 3 month packs. We still have 2 months left. I have one Xbox set as home, and the other xbox I use mainly for watching movies. I have 3 people in my house all of which have accounts. I have my
    account added on the home xbox as family. I can play all games using the Home Xbox Live subscription. Havent had any issues with that until I tried to play Skyforge. When I launch the game it plays through the cut scene, then I get the option to choose Skyforge
    or Battle Royale.... no matter which I pick it brings me to the Xbox Live purchase screen. I select continue then cancel as I already have Live on the Home Xbox. Why will it not let me play Skyforge when I can play all other games just fine?

    Only games on the free to play page on Xbox (Free to Play Games | Xbox) are eligible for this offer. Since Skyforge is not on this page, it is not eligible.

    Skyforge always required a Gold subscription because it is an online game. It just free to own now.

    Fortnite is a Free-To-Play game on Microsoft Store . You probably thinking why you need Xbox Live Gold to play it . Well , it may be annoying that your friends are playing it for free , but you have to know that Xbox Live Gold is very important for privacy
    . I donțt know why , bu it seems to be real .

    This is a common question and every time I'd rather focus the attention on one fact: Xbox Live Gold is not only for gaming. It offers multiple services (with high quality) that everyone uses when connecting to Xbox Live (party, social feature, clubs, LFG,etc).
    That's why MS decided to require a payment for online gaming, even if a game is free-to-play.
