    Why exactly did i get suspended for an entire year?


    I'm really confused about the lack of fairness in these situations like me and this one guy was exchanging insults for awhile and I eventually stopped and just blocked him then a few hours went by and suddenly my account got suspended so I looked at it and saw the reason and I thought "well i mean that's okay I'll just report him back it's not like he was innocent in the things he said" but alas he had deleted almost all of the messages he sent and so i wasn't able to report him and the fact that he reported multiple of my messages meant it was months before i could even talk to my friends again but I let it go because I'm not one to hold grudges but mind you because of that situation my strikes were at 7 to 8 and the guy who reported me suffered no punishment just because he deleted his messages. I got another suspension just a few hours ago saying that my account had violated one or more of the community standards and so i can't talk to or play anything online for an enforcement that had no details available on why i got suspended? And because of the strikes of the previous situation i have to wait an entire year before i can play anything online again? Why exactly? It hurts because I've always been far more kind than i have been mean to players i encountered i tend to take a lot of joy helping new players learn things in video games and i don't really understand why people are getting away with the most toxic things but little ol me is put out for a year..

    Yeah I'll remember to delete my messages if i happen to feel like insulting someone again and I'll make sure to report anything they say in response immediately so they don't have a chance to to think twice about it I'll also do it multiple times that way they get enough strikes to get suspended for an entire year because that's how justice works evidently, i mean seriously?

    That's why we suggest reporting them immediately and moving on, if you did that they wouldn't had a chance to delete them before you could report. If you respond by breaking the rules you're just giving them a reason to report you, then you'll get in trouble instead.

    Since they deleted their messages after, it sounds like they were just trying to get a reaction from you. It's best to report these players and move on instead of interacting with them. The enforcement team doesn't monitor random chats so if you don't report the messages, no action can be taken. However if you respond by breaking Xbox's rules yourself, you can get reported and suspended. Always follow Xbox's community standards, regardless of the behaviour of others.

    You got suspended because you broke the rules, what other players did in this case is irrelevant. If you didn't break the rules, you wouldn't have gotten reported and suspended. Like I said, you should just report them and move on.
