Why don't XBL ban cheats?

I like to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare. The number of cheats is growing every year and the XBL Enforcement Team do nothing about it.

A lot of these cheats have been blatantly cheating regularly for years and no action is ever taken against them.

I could list hundreds of them but I realise that the cheat protection policy prevents me from naming and shaming them.

Either support the game or do not charge people to play it.

Why don't these cheats get banned?

my xbox got banned

My acc recently got hacked and xbox was suppose to ban the person that hacked me but i got my acc back and xbl banned my acc and console

They do get banned. But then they just create a new account and keep playing. It's up to the developers to patch their games to help stop the cheating, but with games like that, the developers stop caring after the next game gets released.

I understand were you are coming from.

Here is why those "cheats" are still around:

- Game developers stop supporting a game (No more patches or updates)

- There is a lack of evidence the gamer cheated

Overall, people will feel the strike of the ban hammer one way or another when they cheat. Anything that is on the ToC that is violated, the user will eventually be caught for what he/she has done.

Although many great games like World at War that have been ruined by modders, there is nothing the XBL Enforcement team can do to stop the cheats/mods from working since they are not the ones who patch the game, that is the developer of the game's job.

It's a waste of time filing complaints for cheating as the enforcement team do not even look at them.

Do they ban cheats on PS4? I have held back on buying XB1 purely because of the massive amount of cheating on XBL and the fact they don't even try and sort it out.

Gunbuilder, be careful outing cheats in lobbies. XBL can ban you for doing that.

They go to great lengths to protect the cheats.

Cheats have no place in games they should be banned from xbox altogether. I don't see why people should cheat I just don't get the logic in it. CHEATS NEVER ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING

XBL do not care about cheating it has nothing to do with Xbox1. XBL have been turning a blind eye towards cheating for years.

I don't agree with Smwutches. Gamers do not pay the developers an annual subscription fee to play online. We pay XBL for this and I don't see why it is not the responsibility of XBL to ensure this environment is free of cheats. Unless of course the developers
are paid a percentage of the XBL subscription to perform this task? I suspect this is not the case and XBL are taking the money and providing a sub-standard service.

Why should the game developers constantly patch these games and police these games when they get no money for doing so? Someone has to pay for this expense so this is clearly not a viable solution. XBL on the other hand do receive ongoing funding from gamers
to provide this service but they would rather pass the buck and make a ton of cash.

That only applies to gamerscore modding. Cheating and modding in-game results in a ban from XBL.
