    why doesnt my xbox one read my external hard drive?


    i have a 3tb external hard drive full of tv shows i was using my xbox one to watch the media files off the hard drive now my xbox says there's nothing there, but if i hook it up to my computer everythings there. why is the xbox not reading the hard drive
    anymore?

    Try performing a hard reset exactly like this.

    Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational, test
    the results. Let us know. Good Luck.

    Serious External Hard Drive Issues for Xbox One

    Hey everyone. I have a 1.5 TB western digital external hard drive. I plugged it into my xbox one and the format option came up but my finger slipped and pressed back button. When i go to manage storage in the settings, the external hard drive doesnt show
