Why doesn't my game progress save it self, when I play direct from the disc?

I Have an old Xbox original.

Why doesn't my game progress get saved in the hardrive, when I play direct from the disc?

When I play games from the harddrive Everything works as it should.

And why does the konsol have trouble Reading some discs?

Is this a knowned issue for old konsols?

Xbox one gamer tag changed and the 360 don't recognize my old gamer tag

I recently changed my gamer tag on my Xbox one from Camaro Chicken to , on my 360 is still Camaro Chick. When I try to play a 360 game on my Xbox one it doesn't recognize my gamer tag and it doesn't let me save any game progress, it says
that I need to sign in and when I try it doesn't let me it says err9r.

has anyone bought the new walking dead game???? i did yesterday and for some reason when i play it it will NOT save my progress
