Why doesn’t modern warfare 2 work for hardcopy

I got the hard copy and I tried to load the game then nothing happened when I put the disc into the console, then once I loaded up modern warfare then it said I needed to buy the new one online?

May I ask what is the exact message prompt that you're getting?

Also, make sure that all add-ons as well as packs for the game are installed by following the steps below:

Highlight your game > Go to Manage games and add-ons > Click the game icon > Install all packs and DLCs from there.

It is modern warfare multiplayer it just doesn’t give the prompts for the second player to join

why does everyone say modern warfare 2 was a broken game? it simply wasnt lol

So far I only have cod Modern Warfare ll and Warzone 2 along with vanguard on my Xbox one console. I tried Modern Warfare ll and vanguard to try to play multiplayer online, yet the same error occurs too. I get the same error for the rest of my games too, except Warzone 2 since it doesn’t require game pass ultimate or Xbox live gold.
