It's an unborn mammal. Every living mammal on the earth was once a fetus. It's hard for me to think that word could be inappropriate. It's something that children learn about in public school.

That does seem strange, I'm not sure why those 2 words would be banned. Maybe they had somehow been used in the past in an inappropriate context?
