    Why does Xbox suddenly say I do not own game (Modern Warfare II)?


    Hi,

    I pre-ordered Modern Warfare II back in October. I've played the game with virtually no issues since then. I recently tried to play MW2 and the following issues occur:

    When queueing with friends on multiplayer, the game says that I do not own the game and cannot play multiplayer (either "one or more players in your party does not have access to this feature" or a purchase the game message)

    When playing multiplayer solo, I am able to play with no issues.

    When I check the Xbox store it says I do not own the game (must purchase to leave review, gives options to buy).

    After I called Microsoft they verified I have a full active entitlement. I've tried a factory reset, power cycle, quitting app, and resetting various network settings. Does anyone have any advice?

    Hello AilingAwesome, this must be some bug between the Xbox One system, the most important thing is that you check that you have all the licenses of the game in your account.

    In your description you mention that you did a factory reset on the console, and if that did not solve the issue the ideal would be to provide feedback to the Microsoft team.

    Seems to be like an issue with the game itself and not your console.
    Did you tried reinstalling the game to see if that does the trick?

    If not and if this is happening only with modern warfare II the next step is report this problem to Activision here:

    Go to "My games and apps" > Installed games > Highlight the game > Press the Menu button > Go to "manage games and add-ons" > Click the game icon.

    Make sure that these packs are installed:
