Why does Xbox not support CEC / ARC.. ??? If I had known I had never bought the xbox x

I just installed my brand new Xbox X console, so I could play Red Dead Redemption 2. Only to come to the conclusion that you guys do not support Consumer Electronics Control ???

How is this possible?? Its almost 2019. Why was this not advertised?? For this reason you cannot use ARC propperly.

I have a AV receiver. Normal setup, you plug in the console via HDMI directly to the TV and secondly you connect the TV via ARC HDMI port to the ARC HDMI port of the receiver.

I bought the Xbox X, because it was the best 4K console experience. This is also why you DO NOT want to connect your console to the receiver, because most receivers cannot pass through HDR propperly.

If there is no way arround this, I will have to pack it back up and send it back and get a PS4 Pro after all.

I really cannot get over the fact that it is not supported at all. It is the most expensive console out there for crying out load. I am really dissapointed.

    :)

    Had I known

Your anger and frustrations are misdirected. The game developers are the ones that make these decisions not Microsoft. XBOX One supports split screen if the game itself offers it.

I'm sure everyone out in "GamerLand" has heard this before, but I'm telling you, WTH MICROSOFT !!!!

Had I known that you purposely removed "SplitScreen" features in most games on XB1 I would NOT of wasted money on Upgrading to this system.

Shame on you for doing this, and separating American Families from enjoying gameplay in one room, I guess the "Name" of your console says it all, XBOX ONE....

    Turds..........

I hope the hell this really hurts your marketing/sales....

My xbox one x doesn't microwave my hot pockets either but that's not advertised. Its very rarely a product will advertise what a product can not do. A simple google search could have got you this information prior to purchase. I wish you luck with your
return but I also doubt that any retailer will allow you a return because the console doesn't do something that it was never advertised it could

Well... Last year I saw allot of reviews of xbox x console and none mentioned this… Also every other console on the market has CEC so ARC functions propperly. Its just unbelievable that the most expensive console on the market is lagging behind on this.
Its like buying a Mercedes Benz to find out it doesn't have airco.

And dont worry, European law lets u send anything back you buy online within 2 weeks, no questions asked. But I decided I will just have lower quality audio and sell it all when im done with red dead redemption 2.

You don't need lower quality audio if you take the HDMI output to an amp then to TV.

You will get the full audio experience that way. That is what the amp is designed for hence having multiple input sources.

If your receiver supports hdcp 2.2 (which almost any new reciever on the market does) it will pass through 4k content with out down grading it. Arc is very finicky in the first place and not even the TV manufactures have perfected it. That's why a lot
of tv sales man and woman will still recommend digital optical audio out. But on the flip side. I have personally hooked up a xbox one x to a samsung q8fnb ran arc out to a samsung n850 Dolby atmos soundbar and had the audio pass through to the soundbar with
    out any issues.
