Why Does Xbox Need To Have Silver/Gold System?

I just want to ask, why does xbox live have to make us pay to play games with friends? im going to be honest here, im 13, and im not spoiled, nor am i rich and i cannot stress to you enough how hard it is for me to pay for the 3 month cards every 3 months.
i have had 5 Xbox Live accounts, and have been playing xbox for many years, but i cannot continue to pay for something that should be free, and should Have the option to upgrade. Now don't Get me wrong here, i'm not asking for a free membership I am just expressing
my opinion as a free being. i just think Microsoft should do a Sony type system on Xbox where you have Playstation Plus, and A Regular, Non-Plus Account. I feel There Should Be Gold And Silver(as There
IS), Gold Being The Account with free games, early access to content and other premium things, and silver being the account where you can play games join party's and all that good stuff. What i really don't understand is why others just couldn't comprehend
such a system. i have been thinking about this since i was eleven years old, and I feel i Have been spending too much on a service that many of my friends do not even use, and the few that do are considering switching.

Xbox live silver

Does anyone no why the free xbox live dosent let you do anything? i have it cause my mom wont let me get gold does anyone no why you cant join parties,play online,and do pretty much nothing with Silver!!!!????

 

Do you need Xbox Live to play Minecraft?

Yep. Silver is free. All you do is sign up with Xbox Live (either from your console or Xbox.com) fill in your details, gamertag etc. And then you are automatically Silver.

Gold memberships add online play, certain demos that are only available to Gold subscribers, and that's really it. If you want to play Minecraft with people online, then you need Gold, but if you want to play it by yourself or split-screen with somebody next to you, you can also do that on Silver.

 

I suggest you actually try the "free" services and see the difference

Xbox has 99.9% uptime

Xbox live has a good reliability on their network you don't have weekly maintenance which happens on the psn

FYI ps4 is paid subscription for online multiplayer psn is only free with ps3

You don't have the clean and yearly feature updates like xbox on the free services

you get free games monthly that you keep as long as you own your console

rather then games that are rental as long as you have psn plus

 

the free games with gold could come with the gold Sub, silver would just have multiplayer and partys and other related things lime that

 

i could care less im getting a ps3 tommorow and trading in my xbox microsoft lost a 7 year customer and im going to rally others i know to do the same, so whatever. and microsoft can be mad, but i am using the act of free speech on the first ammendment.

Fist off sorry to see you go. My only suggestion would be not to trade in your 360 but to place it in a safe place and test the waters with Sony. I would almost be willing to bet you will end up dragging that 360 out again in the future. I have had a few
friends switch to PSN and they have all sense returned to Xbox. It's great that you voice your opinion. Really take a run with PSN and choose the service that fits your needs best. No one can be mad about someone trying to pick a service that suits them.

You are going to "rally others?" lol . So you are a 7 year member, buying XBL, and just now you want to go to PS3? It seems like you just posted this here to see who would get mad, because if you do not have a problem that can be solved by other users, you
should not have posted here.I'm not going to sit here and preach the Pros of staying with Xbox, you will figure them out when you get the PS3. Sayonara.

 

i have played, and i am currently doing so now... i only got 60 usd ($) though so i had to spend another 60 but i feel i could stick with playstation. Thanks For The Replys BTW.
