Why does the Xbox One Stereo Headset Cost $60 But Break After 2-3 Months?

This is my 3rd headset my family keeps buying the same one and I'm left with a headset that breaks on way or another for atleast 3 months and then I have to use my earbuds. The first one Couldn't speak out of it then the ear **** started to fall off (saw
ALOT of people online with this problem). The second one was the same as the first only it didn't fall apart. I called Gamestop and the man was nice enough tobreplace the headset even tho it was past the 1 month period. The 3rd one is another common problem
ALOT of people have, it's doing what it does to my friend the same thing but the different ear. The volume in the left ear is louder and the right went down so now it goes to a unbearable sound and throws me off in my games and I can't stand it I plug in one
of my earbuds in my phone to listen to music (can't hear the enemy now). Now they're going to most likely get me the same crap I just want to know why this headset only is $60 but only lasts 3 months and unlike the little kids out there I take care of my headsets
because I'm broke and can't make money it's rare I get enough to even pay them to go get me this.

Since third-party products didn't work. I would highly advice that you get the Xbox One Headset Adapter instead. This will be a one time cost but should definitely work.

I can understand your frustration with all the bad luck you have been having. And, for the record, I am not part of the Microsoft staff nor an Xbox customer support employee. But, I can say that we have 2 Xbox Ones and 1 Xbox One S, and 2 of the

Xbox One Stereo Headsets. And, both headsets work well, with and without the
Stereo Headset Adapters, on all our Xboxes.

Ahh 23 days and not a single reply because they don't want to say anything about their garbage product lol.

If your headset is breaking within 90 days from the date of purchase, it would be covered under the accessories warranty. You can work out the replacement via the
Online Service Center.

You can leave feedback regarding the build quality over on the
Xbox Feedback site as well.
