Why does the Xbox keep saying "can't save more game data?" When I know it has space?

It's possible that the issue is related to the Xbox's storage management system. You can try clearing the cache on your Xbox by following these steps:



1. Press and hold the power button on the front of the Xbox until it turns off completely.

2. Unplug the power cable from the back of the Xbox.

3. Wait at least 10 seconds, then plug the power cable back in.

4. Turn on the Xbox and try playing the game again.

If that doesn't work, you can try moving some of your game data to an external hard drive or USB drive to free up space on your Xbox's internal storage.

I moved a large game to my internal storage and the same message popped up. I also have tried doing to reset method you suggested.

Thank you for coming to the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to help.

Unfortunately you cannot delete cloud saves or even manage cloud saves on Xbox One. Local data is backed up to the cloud automatically and overwrites an data to keep the cloud saved up to date with the most recent save in order to recover your saves in the
event the data get's deleted locally on the console.

Xbox One cloud saves do not have a limit and grows as your game library grows so if you can't save anymore it is more than likely because your internal hard drive does not have enough space to save any new games.

Can you further explain what error you are getting when trying to save?

Yes I’ve cleared over 100 gb on my Xbox but xcloud still won’t work for fallout 4 and it’s only fallout 4 that has a problem. I tried using cloud gaming on my Xbox instead but it still didn’t work. My game starts syncing and then says “we can’t save any more data for this game or app” and says my Xbox is out of space for saved data
