    I have a Dell Vostro 5625 with Windows 11, an intel I7 core, 16 gigs of ram, and 250 gigs of storage.

    I have this issue where when I try and Launch Call of Duty Black Ops 1 (Released 2010) It says "Fatal Error" and goes to black. (It's been doing this ever since I installed the game on this computer. It worked fine on my previous windows 10 Lenovo). When I open the steam menu after this happens steam says the game is running. I have to use steam to manually stop the game from running after this point. Otherwise, the game will stay like that. Closing the tab from the Hotbar doesn't do anything. I tried to use the troubleshooter to run it in compatibility mode. But when I select Black Ops 1 in the troubleshooter and press run: it only says catastrophic failure. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game several times and that hasn't worked. I also reset my computer back to factory default thinking there was a problem with where the file was being saved to. No luck there either. Any help would be much appreciated. I want to relive the Black Ops 1 experience. Not the windows vista experience.

    Yes sir my win 11 is up to date and so are all of my BIOS settings and Drivers. In addition, the Microsoft store is up to date and I do not have any apps installed from the Xbox store. I purchased this game and installed it via steam. What is listed in my previous post are the only things I've done to try and make the game work.

    I can suggest you some things, but if the issue persist you may need to reach Activision support.
    Just to confirm, is this happening only with Black ops 1, right?

    In the meantime give this a try:

    A. Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily
    Restart the PC and try again

    B. Do a clean boot in your PC and try again

    Hello GeneticLake6022, from what it says in your description I believe that the problem is not exactly with your computer but rather something of the game with Win 11.

    Also believe that you already have Windows fully upgraded to 22H 2 version and with xbox store apps updated, would there be any more procedure you've tried on your PC?
