Why does the lower back usb port on my series x digital edition not work.

The USB ports on a Series X console are all the same in terms of speed and functionality, so your keyboard should work regardless of the port you choose to use. If this is not the case, there may be something physically wrong with the port itself.

If you haven't already, would you mind giving this a try?

- Go to Settings > General > Power options.

- Select "Shutdown (energy saving)"

- Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.

- Remove all external devices from your console's USB and expansion card ports.

- Unplug the console's power cord for 5 minutes.

- Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Sometimes using extension cords, power strips, surge protectors, or similar devices, can cause power-related issues.

- Check the keyboard's cable and the USB port on your console for debris or dirt.

- Turn your console on, connect your keyboard, and check if the issues persist.

The keyboard itself plugs into my controller and the usb, I have plugged into the usb port on the front of my xbox series x. When using the keyboard, the keyboard works but the mic stops working.

And besides still wondering why my external hard drive does not work when connected to my usb hub , are you sure there are 3 usb ports on the back i thought there was only 2?

Both consoles are digital...it's just the Series S is Digital only whereas the Series X is both Digital and Physical.

No, sorry it won't work. The USB ports on the Series X|S are USB 3.1 which have a maximum speed of 500MB/s. This means, no matter what drive you buy, no matter what speed it's rated at, you're stuck at the max speed of the USB port.

The only drives that can be used for Series X|S games are either the internal or the storage expansion card.

I have the Expansion card for my Series X. I also have an external 2TB USB SSD in an enclosure. I can only use the external SSD for Xbox One games. They do load a lot faster than a mechanical hard drive, but I can't play my Series X games off it.
