Why does my xboz elite 2 controller light stay on when powered off

Be guided with the following troubleshooting steps to help isolate the issue properly:

Please check and replace batteries. Make sure that your batteries are fresh and properly installed, or fully charge the rechargeable controller.

And then update controller firmware using the Xbox Accessories app on a PC or through the console settings.

If you are using it on a PC, install the Xbox Accessories app from the Microsoft Store, connect the controller, and follow the prompts.

And on the Xbox console. Please go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Controllers & headsets, and check for updates.

Next is to power cycle the controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button for 5-10 seconds until the controller turns off, kindly observe the light from the controller.

hi my elite 2 controller don't respond anymore.

not one button, stick or paddles work but the controller is "on"= "home button" has light on...

i can't turn the controller off

when i open the accessories app there is only my standard controller displayed.

connecting to xbox with usb cable doing nothing

when i put them in the case: no "vibration"

on the elite 1 you can simply remove the battery but on elite 2 it's impossible.

is there a trick to turn the controller off and on?

Does the light stay on when you unplug it from the wall ?

Does the orange light on the 360 power brick stay on constantly ?

I think this is part of the design.

I just got in an Elite Series 2 controller with the same issue. it is not removed from the devices list but still does not reconnect to bluetooth when disconnected from USB (charging/accessory app). The status light (xbox home button) just flashes slowly. It continues to do this until it shuts off or I delete and pair the controller again.

side note: elite controller is fully updated
