Why does my xbox usually take 5 minutes to connect to WiFi

My Xbox takes 10-30 minutes to connect to the internet. All other devices in the house are connected to the same WiFi and working. But everytime I get on my Xbox it can’t connect to the internet. It just says no connection for about 5 minutes and I have to go offline and online multiple times and eventually it will just connect. The tv the Xbox is on is connected the same internet and working. Im just very confused on why it takes so long. I have no other issues with the product.

Is this something that has just started happening or has it always been like this? Have you tried a simple power cycle by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for around 10 seconds, wait for it to fully shut down. Remove the power cord for 5 mins then connect and power back on.

Never had the controllers disconnect but my day one console has had wifi issues since day one. The wifi typically does not connect when the console boots but it will connect automatically after about 5 minutes or so. Or I just pick my other wifi 5ghz v's
2.4ghz and it usually connects right up. Annoying yes. My wifi router is in LOS, and I made sure that the power levels were good and the channels were clear. Sorry to say I don't have a clear answer for the wifi issue.

Try shutting down your console and then unplug it for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes then plug it back in and try connecting to the wifi. If that doesn't help the wifi hardware may have died.

Just a Volunteer

It should not take an hour to restart. Usually a couple of minutes at most from the end of Verifying to the start of Applying update.

Are you using WiFi (wireless) or ethernet cable (wired) to connect to your network hardware?
