    Why does my XBox One X shut off when I start a game?


    I can watch YouTube or Twitch but when I start a game my XBox just shuts off. Is there something I can do?

    Before it turns off does the system overheat? Other players were having this same issue and it would be beneficial if we could have all the details.

    No it wasn't overheating, the game would just play for a few minutes and then the XBox would just shut off. I was able to use all the other apps but could not play a game without it shutting off. The console reset seemed to have worked for me.

    Is this one game in particular or all games? I've never had my Xbox shut off but I've had games that restarted to the Xbox menu or crashed so hard I had to reset my Xbox. Usually random shut offs are due to overheating from what I've seen from friends.
    Do the vents have plenty of air flow?

    Based on your words is overheating. Games need more procesor or gpu power. Ventilate, move console and put some compresed air on the back of it.
