    Why does my Xbox One turn On by itself?


    Hey, I am wondering is this is happening to all Xbox Owners? Last night around 4:00 am my Xbox One turned itself on. I was asleep actually everyone in my house was asleep so, I got up and turned it off and was like that was strange but, I was sleepy. Then
    at 7:05 am it turned on by itself again. I am what is considered to be a conspiracy theorist. I know a little about Microsoft, the dark side of Microsoft and I know about NSA, FBI and CIA using devices to spy on US citizens. I need to know does Xbox One have
    hidden surveillance devices within it? I am not giving consent for anyone to spy on me. Not like I have anything to hide, it's the fact that I don't want uninvited people in my business. Edward Snowden told the world about this. You guys need to fix this,
    now!!!

    Why does my xbox one turn on randomly?

    Every once in a while my xbox one turns on by itself. I have unplugged the xbox cable to turn it off, but it turns in maybe about a week? I don't get it very often, but it is getting annoying. Is there anything wrong with my xbox? (PS: I got my xbox in the
    USA, at December 25th, 2016, and upgraded from a xbox 360.)

    When was the last time you cleaned your console? Unplug everything from your Xbox One and using a soft cloth, wipe it down making sure there's nothing "sticking" to the front of your power button. If your console still turns on automatically, check to see
    if your console is in
    instant on mode    . If it is, try changing it to energy-saver to see if that resolves the issue.

    Also, is it possible that someone is turning on your console via the Xbox App on mobile phone or using a controller?

    Is your xbox up-to-date? I think I've read somewhere before that it will turn on sometimes to try to install updates if it really needs them. Kind of creepy tbh.

    This xbox gets used on a weekly basis and the core system updated regularly and in a timely manner (though not all apps/games are always up-to-date).

    As a side note, we do have 2 xboxs in the house, which is why I tested it without networking connected, just in case they were talking to each other.

    Why is my Xbox one turning on by itself?

    Hey there,

    Sorry to hear about the issue! Have you tried a
    Factory Restore on your Xbox One console    ? If you haven't already, let's start out with that to see if that affects any change. Be sure to select 'Reset and keep my games & apps' to make this a painless step to try!

    If the issue does persist, try leaving your Xbox One console unplugged for a night after fully powering off the console (press and hold the power button until your console shuts down).
