why does my xbox keep randomly deleting games randomly and then redownloading them again...

I find this happens sometimes if I use the same external SSD with different XBoxes a lot. One XBox "forgets" the game is installed, and while normally launching it causes it to update and work fine, sometimes the system simply cannot find it when you plug the drive in, and deletes and reinstalls it. Seems to be a limitation of how the system handles reading your library. It's more common on higher capacity drives like 4-8TB

Hmm that is weird. Can you tell what have you tried so far?

first i checked to check my external storage to see if any other games had been deleted but it seems that its just the games that i play most, whenever i plug my xbox back in i get a notification to say that a game need updating and then decides to redownload the whole game again, sometimes it has happed mid game and suddenly kicked me out and starts redownloading it again

I see, let´s first try with a full power cycle

Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button  on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

Once the lights on the front of the console, unplug the power cable from the rear of the console.

Wait at least 2 minutes

Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button  on the console or the Xbox button  on your controller.

Getting the error code 8015407 while trying to redownload my account it randomly deleted last night when i turned off my xbox.... what is this...
