Why does my Xbox just randomly turn itself on every now and then?

Is your xbox up-to-date? I think I've read somewhere before that it will turn on sometimes to try to install updates if it really needs them. Kind of creepy tbh.

This xbox gets used on a weekly basis and the core system updated regularly and in a timely manner (though not all apps/games are always up-to-date).

As a side note, we do have 2 xboxs in the house, which is why I tested it without networking connected, just in case they were talking to each other.

I don't get the same problem as you but kind of similar. My Xbox one X turns itself on randomly and also suggest stopped doing anything when the A button is pressed on the home screens. It recognizes that you pressed the button, it just doesn't do anything.
If you hold the button down it might recognize it eventually. It does this with every controller I have so it's not the controllers.

I have sort of the same problem but mine is that the console turns on by itself randomly and my eject button doesnt work but sometimes it does.

I have a similar issue with my 3 month old XBox 360, it randomly turns itself off, frequently after i turn it on so it has nothing to do with overheating

so far not had an answer as to why
