Why does my Xbox Discord stream not pick up my background music?

I usually play games with Spotify or Soundcloud music playing in the background. Lately, I've decided to try streaming, first testing in my own server to see if it works.

I realized if I listen to my music through Spotify/Soundcloud, the stream will be silent. It won't play the game music nor will it play my Soundcloud or Spotify music, it'll be mute instead.

The game audio, however, does work when I turn off my music. Which is a shame as I love my music and prefer it when it's compared to the game's music.

You do not have a license to broadcast copyrighted music. Simple as that.

Many games have a streamer mode for this reason

To my knowledge background music streaming is only available on the Xbox One, unfortunately not on the 360.

Viral - That is incorrect. Since day ONE, the Xbox 360 had the ability to connect with Windows Media Center, as well as the ability to stream photos or music from your PC (and music 'in the background').

If the 360 couldn't do that stuff from day ONE, then why does my launch day 360 - with the special launch day remote control, have a Windows Media Center button ON THE REMOTE!?

People can pick up music in the background with mine, but as for picking up the sound from a ceiling fan, it does sound like its a little over sensitive. Sorry, I wish I could help more.

I know it's not music streaming but the Xbox desperately needs a good music streaming service that is not Pandora. Pandora is CHEEKS. So many times I've had friends over and I want to just play background music when we are hanging out or party music or whatever
through my speakers with my Spotify Premium account, but I can't. I have to switch over to my PS4 for that.
