Why does my Xbox crash when I try and launch my games?

For the past couple of weeks, anytime I try and launch any of my games (Fallout 4, Overwatch etc.) my console crashes and the controller light just flashes. I need to power on the console by the main power button as the controller disconnects. I have tried
rebooting the console, reset it and tried to power cycle but the problem keeps occuring. I have made sure there is nothing touching the power buttom, ensured batteries are new and even bought a new controller. Can someone please advise as I’m running out of
patience.

Destiny Not Launching

So I got on and tried to launch my digital version of destiny and all it does is crash and then this message pops up

Something went wrong give it another try if this happens again let us know by entering 0x87de0017 at Xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate

I tried to go to the link but it just crashes when I try I also tried to go to the xbox live support page to chat with a rep it crashes does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I appreciate the reply whoever I feel you missed the point. My games dont’t freeze or not start properly, they simply crash my Xbox resulting in the console totally shutting down. Once I can turn the console back on using the main power button the pad
reconnects. The game will then launch as normal until a few hours/days pass until it repeats. Please understand I have tried all articles and nothing has worked. This is a console issue and not a game issue. Unless multiple games are causing the same problem
which seems unlikely.

Hi there,

For a full power cycle youll want to go into settings and select full shut down. From there please unhook the cables from the xbox and hold in the power button for 30 seconds to discharge the remaining power. After another 30 seconds please hook the cables
back up and turn it back on, the issue should hopefully be resolved.

 

This has been done multiple times and the issue is still presenting itself...

 

Try a factory reset, it gives you the option to keep your games and apps. If that doesn't work I'd try a complete factory reset. Sounds like a pain but worth a try
