Why does my voice chat only work in party? Why won’t it work in game?

My game chat audio isn’t working. I have a Xbox series S and I can use audio in any party or discord chat but as soon as I go into a game I can’t use the chat. Nobody can hear me and I can’t hear them. I have checked all of my privacy settings and they are all set to allow and everybody for every setting. I haven’t been able to play with friends. Please help

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If that didn't work make sure that your NAT Type is OPEN.

Settings > General > Network Settings > Test NAT Type.

Fr tho.... party chat works its game chat, as in in-game voice chat that doesn’t work and no one seems to know why.

Forgot to answer the question about the party chat. Party chat does not work between the 360 and One only text messages. If you play a 360 game that has in game voice communications that will work.

You are right, most games handle the voice chat better than the party chat does. But we shouldn't have to configure the settings (for example only friends hear me) for every game. That's why something like a party chat exists.

I hope this is fixable.
