    Why does my sign in button do nothing?


    Hail, Gamers.

    I'm having a bit of a problem with the Xbox software on Windows 10. I tried to play Astroneer and it refused to load the game and would just sit in a blank screen. I noticed my Gaming account was not signed in, so attempted to sign in through using the various
    "sign in" buttons distributed around Xbox's vomit-inducing UI. When I click the "sign in" buttons, nothing happens. Literally nothing. I have tried many of the common fixes derived from googling the problem and have even reinstalled Xbox itself. The problem
    persists.

    Apparently my gaming account still exists because I'm still on my friend's friends list. So why did it sign me out and why can't I sign back in?

    Why is Microsoft software generally so terrible these days? Perpetual bugs with no solid fixes (just workarounds), data harvesting multi-account linking nonsense that inhibit's the Gamer's experience, and an almost complete absence of support.

    Anyway, I digress. I really would like to fix this problem sharpish and not waste any more time on it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated; thank you in advance for your responses.

    I highly recommend following the troubleshooting steps below one by another:

    1. Close the app from the recent applications menu.

    2. Restart your phone.

    3. Clear the app cache. Go to Settings > Apps, select the app, then select Storage > Clear cache.

    4. Clear the app storage, then try again. Go to Settings> Apps, select the app, then select Storage > Clear storage.

    5. Uninstall and reinstall. Press on the app icon until you get the option to Uninstall. Then reinstall the app from the Play Store.

    I load the game. I do not put any sign in information in at all. It asks me to sign in and has one button. The sign in button. It does nothing and that’s the only button it allows me to push. If I hit the red X it says failed to sign in then all I can do is quit the game

    i have this issue and it just randomly started, one day it signed me out on it own and now the sign in button does nothing i can not purchase anything either, i have tried everything you listed above and still nothing. i can still play some games i had shortcuts for games i had pined to my taskbar. it allows me to sign into my account only when accessing the game but not the app itself.
