Why does my Series X all of a sudden, after having it for several years, think it's plugged...

My Password, all of a sudden, is not being accepted!!!!! WHY??? I've been playing Microsoft Mahjong for several years or more. Now, cannot sign in!!! WHY?

I am aware of the problem your Xbox Series X console is having, which causes it to believe it is connected via an Ethernet wire when in fact it is connected over Wi-Fi. I am here to help and let us work on this together.

There could be a few reasons why your Xbox Series X is detecting an Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi. Here are some steps you can try to fix the issue:



Restart your Xbox Series X:

Turn off your console and unplug it from the power source for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. See How to restart or power cycle your Xbox console | Xbox Support.



Check your network settings:

Go to Settings > Network > Network settings and make sure that the "Connect to the Internet" option is set to Wi-Fi.



Forget the Ethernet network:

If your Xbox Series X is still detecting an Ethernet connection, go to Settings > Network > Network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address and select "Clear." This will remove any saved Ethernet settings.



Reset your network settings:

If none of the above step's work, you can try resetting your network settings. Go to Settings > System > Console info > Reset console > Reset and keep my games & apps. This will reset your network settings and keep your games and apps intact.

My question is why all of a sudden after 2 years with the same modem/router combo does it start acting up...I will enable bridge mode...what exactly is it?

So after the Senua’s Saga trailer shown with the console reveal, it does say Xbox Series X. So for now (at least) the new Xbox is known as Series X. As we get to the big events of the year (E3, Gamescom etc) we will likely know more especially when it
comes to the name. I think there is method to their madness and all will be revealed sometime in 2020.
