why does my key for gta 4 not work?

I've got the same probmel with GTA 4, I downloaded Borderlands and that works perfectly fine and I've been playing that for the last 2 days but I don't even get to start up GTA 4 before it says "disc is unreadable" how can this be possible if its a digital
download? And why does it do that for GTA 4 and not borderlands?

Hello, I have activated GTA 4 game on my steam account. Activation, download and installation was successful. When I run GTA 4 game, then I must log in to my windows live account, but after login I received a "invalid CD key" error. I try to enter my CD
key manually, but I receive the same error.

Can You help me, please?
