Why does my controller disconnect when wire is moved up or when it lays on the back

Whenever I move Xbox cable slightly up it automatically disconnects. I’ve tried 4 different cables that work with anything else but with my Xbox series s controller it works until i lay it on its back or the wire more moves up. Does anyone know how to fix this pls help asap

This may be a hardware issue with your controller USB port.

Do you have another controller? Does this happen to it as well?

If you controller is still under warranty, please, submit a repair request.

Sorry for replying again but it doesn't disconnect when my controller is wired up which is weird

Hello, Thank you for providing the link and yes, I do have a second bluetooth controller and it does not disconnect when using it on my laptop. It only happens with the xbox controller. I would also like to add that the controller does not disconnect when using it wired. However I would like to fix it's malfunction by looking for help.

The controller does not connect wired or wireless. I had taken the controller with me into the kitchen and that’s when it disconnected and it will no longer connect so unable to update.

This does seem to be a thing.

After experimenting around, it seems to be related (in my case) to when I unplug my headphones from the controller and plug them into some other device like my switch.

Play around on switch etc, plug it back into Xbox controller again.. that’s when the trouble seems to start.

Especially if the Xbox was turned off at the time, sometimes I can’t even start the Xbox back up using that controller after plugging headphone back in controller.

Disconnecting the wire from the controller itself doesn’t make the difference, unplugging the entire cable from the USB port and plugging that back in, does make the difference.

Very very weird and i can reproduce it to an extent.
