Why does my console keep updating WHEN I’m gaming?!

If you are enrolled in the insider program, they post the release schedule of updates in advance. They even warn you that if it is not installed by a certain point, it becomes mandatory. Perhaps you should be more mindful of the update schedule and complete the update at a convenient time before it ends up installing at the mandatory time. This is from the most recent update.

if you are participating in the Xbox Insiders program, then you will receive updates more often and they may also have a shorter time before they become mandatory and will be pushed. If you are participating in the Xbox Insider program then you may want to consider changing to a different ring (with fewer updates) or unenrolling.

Public updates usually have several days before they will become mandatory, unlike certain Xbox Insider rings where it can be less then 1 day.

I’m playing halo infinite and I’m having the same issue at the tower. My progress will save and I’ll reach saving checkpoints. But when I quit the game and eventually resumed the game within 1 minute of quitting and leaving the game, my progress did not save. The same thing happened last night. Why does this keep occurring and what needs to be done in order to save my progress?

It’s not the consol software, I’m talking about the updates for the games. As stated, my friends seem to get updates when I do not is there a way to check what patches you have for specific games (and yes I know it’s supposed to kick you off Live when you’re
not up to date, but for me I don’t think it does)?

My One X does this but I have my console power settings to instant on & to keep updated so when mine does it it's because it's auto updating.
