Why does my computer completely freeze when playing valorant?

Hey I'm on windows 11 with an optiplex 7020 and every time that I play valorant my computer completely freezes up but audio still comes through for a few minutes after but that eventually cuts out as well, I have to completely restart my computer using the power button for it to work again, is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?
