Why does my black ops 3 disc not work on series x?

I have an Xbox series x and I tried installing my Xbox one black ops 3 disc onto the Xbox. The installation keeps stopping and I have to restart the download. I tried installing from the Microsoft store (with the disc in) and the installation completes but the game doesn't load. I've tried every other troubleshooting I could find online and I'm just tired. Id like to know if I can just show proof I have the disc and can I exchange for a digital copy so I can play the game I paid for? There's no issue with disc because it works on literally any other Xbox.
