  1. Why does my audio cut out when using 30 bits per pixel

I am using a 4k 60Hz Samsung smart tv. Supports HDR10, does not support Dolby Vision. I have a 5.1 sony home theater receiver connect to the TV. From what I understand I should be able to use 30 bits but not 36 bits. I have alow 4K and allow HDR10 enabled but when I change it from 24 bits to 30 bits the audio cuts out completely.

    :)

Xbox One X Dolby Atmos magically stopped working

Sorry to hear it. If you're in the Xbox Insiders Preview Program please try the steps listed below to see if they help

Users who have Dolby Atmos enabled and console display settings set to 120hz with 36 bits per pixel (12-bit) are experiencing loss of Dolby Atmos audio in some situations.

    • Workaround: Disable 120hz or set Video Fidelity to 30 bits per pixel (10-bit) or lower.

Screen issues with Xbox one X

You may have set your "color depth" setting too high, likely at "36-bits per pixel (12-bit)". Choose the next option, "30-bits per pixel (10-bit)".

I experienced this same problem when I initially set up my Xbox One X on my 4K/HDR TV, and fixed it by setting it to 10-bit color. I think 12-bit is for Dolby Vision TVs.

What kinds of A/V settings will the X1 feature?

In addition to 24hz playback is supports 24, 30, and 36 bits per pixel.

Xbox One, Dolby Atmos - 3 months since it worked correctly

As far as my understanding this issue is related to the color bit-depth selected or perhaps the refresh rate when set to 120hz.

Personally, I'm using 1440p, 120hz, and 10-bit. I haven't had any major issues using Dolby Atmos with this setting.

Although, once or twice I've had to re-open the Dolby app to re-apply the settings.

Here is the current known issue and workaround. I hope this helps

flickering/acting like it has film grain

ok, my xbox is stable, so it looks like setting the overscan to 30 bits per pixel (10bit) was the correct action. successful fix ^^
