Why does Microsoft decline to give refunds for Battlefield V.

Microsoft has refused to give me a refund on Battlefield V, even though I have owned it for less than 2 weeks, and have only played for 1 hour 43 minutes.

    Does Microsoft give refunds?

Before you purchase anything from the marketplace, you're told that there are no refunds. You can try contacting support, but there's no guarantee they'll give you one.

    Does Microsoft give refunds?

I bought & downloaded a game by accident because i was only looking to see if the game had a trial, and it didn't. I went to look at the photos but instead i pressed A two times and bought it by accident. They took 43 dollars out of my account. So I want
to know if Microsoft can give my money back.

  5. Most likely due to the MS terms of use that you agreed to when signing up for the account says:

"Refund Policy. Unless otherwise provided by law or by a particular Service offer, all purchases are final and non-refundable. If you believe that Microsoft has charged you in error, you must contact
us within 90 days of such charge. No refunds will be given for any charges more than 90 days old. We reserve the right to issue refunds or credits at our sole discretion. If we issue a refund or credit, we are under no obligation to issue the same or similar
refund in the future. This refund policy does not affect any statutory rights that may apply. For more refund information, please visit our
    help topic."

So There are very specific reasons that they give out refunds.

Nobody here will be able to give you those specific reasons that they do.

I have requested one. Twice. They give no specific reason. Other than they can say "no" for any reason they want. Microsoft market might as well retract that they offer refunds. Because they do not.

Have you received any refunds for any other games in the past year?

Why does Microsoft decline to give refunds for Battlefield V.

Further, the refund policy does state that Microsoft reserves the right to refuse refunds if they believe the privilege has been (or is being) abused. Have you responded to the e-mail denying the request to ask for more information?

Another issue may be the reported time playing. If you're looking at the dashboard for the game, some games show "time played", but it only counts for time actually in game, while not paused, etc. So you could have a game that shows an hour in your dashboard,
but has been used for several hours.

This was the first time I have asked for a refund from Microsoft. I have used Valve for years, and have had many accepted refunds on that platform.

To me this just smacks of a hollow refund policy. Has anyone ever had an accepted refund exchange on Xbox marketplace?

Have you asked what Microsoft shows as your play time, as Tormaz suggested? You can reply to the responses you're getting from Microsoft and they'll answer.

I have respond to the emails, several times, asking for a specific reason. All I have gotten is the canned response that it is ineligible under the Microsoft Terms Of Sales. Even though their own refund policy says it should be eligible.

Hey Fabber thanks for keeping in touch!

    As per the
    Microsoft Service Agreemen
t:Refund Policy. Unless otherwise provided by law or by a particular Service offer, all purchases are final and non-refundable. If you believe that Microsoft has charged
you in error, you must contact us within 90 days of such charge. No refunds will be given for any charges more than 90 days old. We reserve the right to issue refunds or credits at our sole discretion. If we issue a refund or credit, we are under no obligation

So in short all sales are final, if the refund team deemed it so, they are the only ones with the correct tools to look into it. Hope this helps!

    • Games and apps are only eligible for refunds within two weeks of purchase if you have less than 2 hours of usage across all accounts on that device.
    • DLC, season passes, and DLC are not eligible for self-service refunds.
    • The game or app must be downloaded and launched at least once before requesting a self-service refund.
    • You must wait at least one day after the game or app's launch before requesting a refund.
    • Certain Windows 10 apps may not be eligible for a self-service refund. Presumably at developer's requests.
    • Microsoft emphasizes that it reserves the right to block access for users who abuse self-service refunds. So, people who repeatedly purchase, then refund games simply to test them out are likely to find themselves with a ban.

  15. I have to say I thought these circumstances allowed a refund so I'm surprised. I've always advised people you can if they havent had a refund within a year and played less than 2 hours. I think I need to scrub up on my research on this. As a friend
also said they had this same experience with BFV and a refund.
