    The new update wiped my account which is 8 years old, now i am being asked to verify my account on a pc??? lost my games, amazon prime and netflix account, i understand the need for account protection, but the new measures has destroyed my access to a what
    was a to me anyway a flawless platform, i have been on the phone to support and i need access to a pc, also my 500gig HDD is no longer seen after the update today, so far i see no way to transfer my games or anything else i have paid ,subscribed to a new
    account and none of it is my fault.

    Sorry to say but it is an Xbox 360 not xbox1, also sorry for posting in wrong place, I have never needed to use forum before and support has helped, they are sending me a password reset for my old account, my Xbox is one of the original xbox360s, I have
    found also that it no longer reads or acknowledges any memory I place in the USB ports, update has severely *** my old faithful

    Hi there,

    since the hard drive is no where to be seen in the storage section. I'm thinking that this issue is hard drive related. If a hard drive fails, the console will think that it needs an update, so the update was a result of a failure of the HDD.

    Please try the steps mentioned on this support page:

    Thank you very much sir, indeed it was the hard drive, I purchased a 500 gig Xbox drive from Amazon, on closer inspection I see there is no Microsoft holo seal, removing the HDD from the grey enclosure revealed an unsupported HGST drive, no where did it
    mention it was 4th party never mind 3rd, the drive works great via a laptop, looked official grey 500 gig, seems the original Xbox 360 HDD is no longer supported, seems there are still original 320 gig? greys floating about, didn't know fakes were even on
    the market. My bad.

    That doesn't work for v-bucks. It's games only.

    Your best bet is to contact Xbox support to request a call back, then explain to them what happened. Hopefully they will refund you. support.xbox.com/contact-us
