Why does it take so long for game patches to be released on Xbox?

Lies of P just released a patch that I'm looking forward to trying. This patch is released on both Steam and Playstation already with no issues, yet it's not showing up on Xbox at all. This is a game that was day-one released on Gamepass too.

It feels kinda bad to be constantly lagging behind Sony in terms of almost everything, so the least Microsoft could do is test and release patches in a timely fashion?

Xbox player for 20 years now but good lord it is a test of patience sometimes. Get better.

There is no technological issues with patching games. They still need to pass certification just like everything else.

Where they prioritize their resources is up to them, again, you have to ask them what the problem is. We have no information, and it is not available to anyone but MS development and certification staff and the developer/publisher

Idk, it has been the same for many different games by different developers.

Either the patching process for Xbox is tricky for them (bad system archtecture?), or Xbox are A LOT slower than their competitors at releasing the patches.

Either way, the xbox players suffer.

You would have to ask the developer, as details from game certification submissions are not available to the general public

Typically a patch has failed certification if it's not up

I would suggest you ask them, and watch their social media for news.
