i tried both of the solutions you suggested but it still does the same thing even with a different internet connection, browser and device.

I see, do you have a different Microsoft account you could try signing into instead? If so try that and see if the issue persists.

It will let me sign in to his account on my phone, but when trying to sign in on his x box it comes up with the message "we can't sign you in.try again in a few minutes or check service status in x box assist ( Ox87DD19) it's done this since Friday, and is the same when trying to sign in my my x box account!
