    I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

    Please clear cached credentials by opening Credential Manager (Win + R, type control keymgr.dll, press Enter). Remove any saved credentials related to your Microsoft account. Restart your PC and signing in again.

    And then use a different browser or device. Do this by resetting your password from a different browser. If incase it won't work, change your password on a different device and then check if it works.

    Next is to reset via Incognito Mode. To do this, open an incognito/private browsing window and attempt the password reset process.

    It doesn't update automatically because when you update to an adult you need to verify all of your information all over again anyways. They need to know it's YOU. They ask you for your password and all of that stuff.
