Why does if have to be a hassle to cancel auto-renewal

This is ridiculous! There used to be an option to cancel auto renewal but now there's not. And every post I see of others having the same problem the people replying are of no help what so ever. They just seem like robots posting the same thing over and
over again. We shouldn't have to call microsoft to resolve this. The option used to be available and now it's not. I do not want to cancel my xbox live membership I would just like to be able to renew the account when I want to.

Why does the Cancel Auto Renewal Always Result in Error?

Why does the cancel auto renewal tool not work? Always results in an eror. Is this intentional to make it difficult for members to cancel?

 

Won't allow stop auto renewal

So i haven't touched my Xbox for months. i got an email saying my subscription has been renewed. When i go into my profile, It says i am overdue an amount which i don't want to pay and i want to cancel my auto renewal. i checked the FAQ, it says i need
to settle the amount before i can cancel my subscription. this is ridiculous. so my subscription was auto renewed and it charged my credit card? why does it still say i have an overdue amount?? if i don't cancel my auto renewal, when It comes to my anniversary
date in 2018, will I be charged an additional auto renewal fee?? this is madness.

Unfortunately you will need to contact support. I believe that link has been broken for awhile.
