Why does game pass not allow me to play games?

I repurchased Xbox game pass ultimate and console to try to fix this problem but any time I try to play a game it displays a message that says the person who purchased the game must sign in. I am the only one who has purchased the game through game pass.

Please check first if your Game pass Ultimate subscription is active from this link, https://account.microsoft.com/services/.

If it's active there, on the same subscription page, turn off the recurring billing of the subscription then restart your console. Once it is back on, try playing any game from Game pass and see if it works.

Does he have Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate? Regular Game Pass won't allow you to play online.

Hi Dave, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Kindly validate if your subscription is showing up on your Xbox settings as well by following the steps below:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Account > Subscriptions.

It should be Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Once confirmed simply remove and re-add your account to re-sync the license.

REMOVE ACCOUNT

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

3. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

4. When you're finished, select Close.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

ADD ACCOUNT

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

3. Enter the Email address and the password.

4. Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.

5. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences to add your Microsoft account to your Xbox console.

Gold is required to play online. Game Pass Ultimate includes Gold which will allow you to play online. If you bought a standard Game Pass subscription, it does not include Gold.

Did you buy Gold or did you buy Game Pass? There's not a "Gold Game Pass". If you bought standard Game Pass, that does not include Gold and would not allow you to play online.
