Why does everyone hate the Modern day segements

So I gotta ask this because apparently I'm in the minority here why does everyone hate the outside of the animus segments. I mean to me its very interesting some of the technologies Abstergo is developing that might actually come true some day or how these
organizations fly under the radar modern day. I understand desmond was blandy mic bland bland but I liked some of his conversations with Shaun and Rebecca especially Shaun putting a historical context on things. Especially different ways the animus was developed
like in previous installments with a young warren vidic. Even some of the mutiplayer story parts were very good. To me it gives a face to the modern story and why they are where they are in certain places. I loved the design of the abstergo computer system
is was very 2001 ish. I understand for some people it interrupts from gameplay but come on this is such an original story. Everyone complains about it and this series comes up with very original ideas and everyone just wants the action. I particularly find
it funny that ubisoft continues to sell Desmond Hoodies even though they killed him off. I just want an actual idea because to me a lot of the modern day scenarios make the plot more complex and interesting. So far other than AC3 it doesn't disappoint.

This is why I hate the modern so called gamers which are more modern day consumers, lack the value of game content for pretty graphics.

 

Personally I don't hate them, I loved what unity did with Modern dayish...1945.. Paris but I did hate the Desmond sides of AC 2 and 3. I found desmond to be boring and I never looked to have to play him.

 

eh for me I liked desmond. Sure he was boring but he allowed us to have long conversations with the other more exciting characters. Today all you can do is just be talked at and not react to anything anyone is saying to you which I feel like is a loss.

 

True, I guess my grudge was and still is with the ending of AC3, I thought I would of had a choice in the final outcome, and they even hint for a choice and then you just get *** over, AND you never even use desmond's learned abilities from the animus like
at all. I liked Unity's 1945 france, but there wasn't anything there, the character doesn't even asks the question of where he is at.

 

I agree with you there AC3 is still a disaster. I tried playing it again and it was literally the most tedious thing I ever did. Even the DLC could not save it. Personally the way it was set up I think there wouldn't have been a real choice. You already
saw the choice if you decided to not do anything and have everything repeated again. Essentially without backtracking you only had one real choice. Personally I think ubisoft should have had an option to turn off modern day segements if you didn't care for
them or something. I would have so wanted to have talked to Juno as Desmond or someone in AC4 it was such a wasted opportunity.

 

yeah I concur with you on that, don't get me wrong my first AC game was 2 and I didn't hate the modern events at all there, but after a while I felt like the character just did less and less. btw hated the brazil mission on AC3

 

Desmond and the gang where hilarious, Their departure put a big black hole in this series to me.
