Why do you like the Borderlands games?

^Thought the first one was brilliant and the second was a close second. The Pre-Sequel was alright, though didn't like the bouncing and needing air; story didn't seem as polished as well.

The one thing that does bug me is Gearbox and nerfing guns. I farmed for a Conference Call and Bee Shield and now they're not the beast combination they were. I can understand nerfs in a competitive game such as C.O.D., but Borderlands as just a co-op or
single player experience.

:)

Hello "Genchy" Why do you like the Borderlands games? :)

.........

the " cartoony style graphics " does not fit the Fallout 3 esque theme of the game. <--> this is MY opinion. MY opinion does not represent the opinion of everyone else.

..........

Lei your comment about the graphics style not suiting it are way off and as usual come from nowhere, Borderlands is nothing like Fallout and isn't supposed to be

<--> this is YOUR opinion. YOUR opinion does not represent the opinion of everyone else.

..........

Summary = Every individual has THEIR own opinion.

............

Also, I watch the Let's Play Borderlands videos on Youtube while I fold my laundry and my comment was and still is... " Serious Style Graphics " should have been used for this game.

..........

Have a nice day or afternoon or night "Genchy" Why do you like the Borderlands games? :)

Borderlands doesn't have a "Fallout esque" theme.

Fallout is a post apocalyptic game set on earth.

Borderlands is a futuristic setting on a planet called Pandora.

All they have in common is that they are both first person shooters with plenty of weapons,a lot more in Borderlands,& both games have rpg elements in them.

Genchy is right,it's not a matter of opinion in this case.

Borderlands originaly had "realistic, gritty" graphics but that was scrapped because it didn't sit right in favour of the cell shaded graphics which suit the game perfectly.

As the others have said,Borderlands is great fun, especially with friends.

The first one has already been a games with gold & I can't see the other 2 being offered free with gold as long as The Handsome Jack Collection is still selling well.

6. Omg Lei you have to play Borderlands right now lol Loot loot loot couch co-op and more loot. Borderlands is just so much fun and hilarious. Borderlands 2 is my absolute favorite of the series. 1 and 2 are must plays but I will admit I'm still trying to get
into the Borderlands: Pre-Sequel...it's a love\hate relationship.

^ Yeas it's my opinion based on playing both games and actually knowing what I'm talking about through experience vs your opinion based on nothing but some strange idea you have that Borderlands is like Fallout. It simply isn't in any way. Borderlands
suits the graphic style as the whole game is based on humour, it doesn't take itself seriously in any way and that is why it works so well.

Why do you like the Borderlands games?

Initially, cel-shaded graphics in general was a bit of a turnoff for me, but I've come to appreciate the style in a few games. From what I've played of BL, it actually seems to fit the tone and humor of Borderlands pretty well.
A lot of people are constantly recommending Borderlands to me this past week, and quite honestly it is getting really annoying (no offense and disrespect intended). Maybe I will try Borderlands if it ever becomes a free game with Games With Gold.

..........
The first Borderlands has already been offered through Games with Gold, which is how I added the game to my library. To my way of thinking, rather than solicit the opinions of folks who may or may not share your gaming tastes, it's far better to take advantage
of a great offering like GwG and satisfy your own curiosity at no extra cost (if you maintain a Gold membership).

9. Borderlands 1 already came out as GwG some months back. I missed out but got a great deal on the goty edition as well as the tripple pack, so I picked them both up.

Borderlands, I play the heck out of while 2, and the presequal are too shell shaded and hurt my eyes enough that I can't even play them at all.

Not much of a story but if you let your imagination loose. Their is enough room in the story/dlc to make up your own story.

Lewt can be rewarding, but also elusive. Like the 555 X 7 Savage Unforgiven - Which after playing everything 100 times over, I have yet to find. But still having fun searching for.

11. As someone who probably has 1500 hours across all three games I can tell you that it's a brilliant series that you are really doing yourself a disservice by writing it off due to the 'cartoon style graphics'. If you haven't played this game for yourself
and only watched let's play videos, you have not formed a proper opinion for yourself and would not understand why that art style works perfectly for the series and that is MY opinion.

Why do I love these games?

1. Art style - It works perfectly for the game as it's very light hearted so a serious visual style would really detract from that experience, also Pandora can be a really barren wasteland in some areas so sometimes the art style helps brighten things up.

2. The humour - There's nothing quite like Borderland's humour and pop culture/movie references, I get a real kick when you know exactly what they're referencing and it makes for some really enjoyable quests.

3. The Story - I disagree with Electro and I think not having played all three games if why you may have formed that opinion. All three games are interlinked and there's hidden connections throughout all of the games that you can miss if not paying attention
so if you're making up your own story it's no wonder you think there's not much of a story, haha. I've spent hours with people while streaming discussing theories about the story.

4. Gameplay/loot system/replayability - The skill trees of each character provide enough variation that you can really build your characters to suit your own play style and sometimes it's fun to reset your skills and try a different build! Then the different
loot you can get just adds to that variation, I really enjoy the grind on BL2 especially as there's hundreds of legendaries that can each come with different weapons parts and accessories. Put this together with couch coop and online coop and it's just endless
how much time you can spend on these games. Also 3 different playthrough modes that you can go back to at any time (Playthrough 1: Normal, Playthrough: 2 True Vault Hunter and Playthrough 3: Ultimate Vault Hunter).

5. The Community - I've been streaming BL2/TPS for the past month and there is still a huge active community that love these games which really says things about this series, if they're still relevant after 7 (BL) and 4 (BL2) years then that is just a testament
to how great they are. Not only that, the community are just great people who always go out of their way to help you if needed.

I digress, do yourself a favour and play these games if you haven't, even if it's just one playthrough and you don't go on the loot hunt.

13. Why do you like the Borderlands games?

Ah, that is what I forgot though they do kind of fit in with some of my other points!

6. The inhabitants of Pandora - From the NPC's that give you quests (TK Baha, Tina, Claptrap), to the psychos that want to turn you into their new meat bicycle and the demented antagonist that think they're the hero, you can't really beat the characters
of Borderlands.

Yeah, what DigitalAssassin said! Why do you like the Borderlands games? ;)

That is a very thorough and accurate recommendation, and I really couldn't add much more... well, apart from saying that Gearbox has (seemingly) dropped the ball with their 'MOBA that isn't really a MOBA' - Battleborn. Spending years and untold resources
to build the next big thing - when Gearbox fans would've been more than grateful for more Borderlands - just shows that lightning doesn't always strike twice. Gearbox hit paydirt with Borderlands, and for good reason: it's the very definition of FUN and REPLAYABILITY.

And while it's way too soon to deride the likes of (Volition's) Agents of Mayhem - when Volition fans would've been more than grateful for more Saints Row, natch - I'm gonna keep the faith. In the meantime, Lei Fang, you should seriously try playing Borderlands
for YOURSELF. You may be pleasantly surprised. Why do you like the Borderlands games? ;)
