Why do we have to wait for future XBOX One S consoles?

First of all, I don't want to come across as a ranter. 13 days from now, Microsoft will be selling the 500gb and 1tb consoles. Being a penny-pincher myself, I really want an XBOX One S, but I don't really need the 2tb Hard Drive since I back up all my
games and apps on a 5tb external hard drive anyway. There's no reason to buy the 2tb when I don't even use the built in hard drive on the XBOX as it is. My question is this.... I just want to know why they decided to release the 2tb on the 2nd instead of
all of them at the same time. At E3, I don't believe Phil stated that only the 2tb would be released on the 2nd. He stated that the XBOX One S would be released on the 2nd of August. So why does anyone who chooses to use external hard drives have to wait
until the 23rd to get the smaller hard drive sizes? Is this some kind of cash grab from Microsoft to rake in as much as they can before they release the more affordable ones? I am not upset about it at all. I mean, 13 days is fine. I have waited this long
for one. I can wait 13 more days. I am just curious if anyone has any idea about what's going on with the separate release dates.

Xbo one S and xbox one X

Personally i can not wait for the new xbox one X to arrive. I do not have a 4k HDR TV yet even though i have the xbox one S, i know the xbox one X has loads of advantages listed here in this thread and is future proofed for when i inevitably buy my 4K HDR10
compatible TV.

 

Why do I have to wait?

I just purchased a three month gold live membership for my Xbox. And now on the receipt it's saying I have to wait at least 24 hours until I can activate it. Can someone tell me why I don't wanna wait 24 just to put a code in. It also says if you try punching
in the code it'll make it void and unable to use, it also states that it's not refundable. So tell me 'genius' Microsoft shouldn't the card be activated exactly when it's paid for?

 

Marketing. Also the discontinue of the X1 S 2TB version before the 1TB and 500GB console are released... since the original X1 already offer these storage sizes, it gave the people (like myself) the opportunity to get a 2TB HD.....

Some people will even trade in their Xbox One S for a Scorpio. Total waste of money

I laugh when people say it's a waste of money. You have no idea if it is or not. It's not like everyone who is buying an S is going to upgrade to a Scorpio. Even if they do, they could get lots of use out of this console. They could gift it or sell it etc.

They probably released the 2tb first to give them a chance to clear old stock of the original consoles that were only 500 and 1tb. If they released the S in a 500 and a 1tb straight away no one would buy old stock. Notice how the original consoles dropped
to $249 when the S came out? $249 looked a lot better than the €399 XBOX One S 2tb.

 

It its disposable income its impossible to waste.....one mans waste is another mans value..
