    Why do I need Xbox Live to utilize LAN?


    Good job Microsoft, you've found another way to rip me off $.

    But to make it worse is the fact I have to rely on your *** service.

    The two attempts I've had to do a LAN party with the Master Chief Collection have failed because Xbox Live failed. (And I know it did because I checked the status of Xbox Live both times)

    ... *sigh* ... what the hell man.

    What Setting needs to change to enable my child to utilize my Xbox Gold Live account

    We have Family Settings on our Xbox One S account. As the adult, I purchased Xbox Gold LIVE, but my child cannot utilize the Xbox Gold LIVE and that is the only reason I purchased it! What setting and where is it located do I need to change to enable my
    child to utilize what I purchased?

    You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft Account is set up.

    I found out that you still need xbox live eaven to play LAN only.

    Thank you for that update. If you're using a console to use online services (LAN still pings off the servers), you would need to have Gold to do this.

    Does xbox one offer System Link (to physically connect 2 or more Xbox one's together for LAN multiplayer)?

    Cross me off the list for Xbox1. Games like Forza have so much more potential with LAN capability. Lan gives so much more than just xbox live. I cant understand why you would simply not have LAN as a feture. I miss the days of playing Forza with friends
    over LAN. Just lazy and not listening to thpeople who put these companies where they are (the customers). I know so many people no buying xbox one due to lack of LAN features. Why is it when another door opens these companies decide to close the doors to the
    things which got them their in the first place. MICROSOFT... Start listening to your customers! I will look forward to playing more games over LAN in the future...
